WHAT TO EXPECT

Our Case Process

Attorney Consultation

Following an accident, it is important to contact an experienced attorney as soon as possible so to professionally evaluate your case, including whether there is a negligent party from whom to seek compensation, the severity of your injuries, your medical costs, and your legal options.

Poughkeepsie Pam offers free,

no-obligation consultation

In-Depth Investigation

Once you decide to let Poughkeepsie Pam represent you, she will thoroughly investigate your personal injury claim, including police reports, the accident scene, photographic records, witness testimony, medical records and expenses, and more. This includes consultations with medical and subject matter experts to examine the possible defenses of the opposing party.  The goal here is to develop a strong foundation to claim liability.

Engage the Opposition

The most important step is to compose a powerful demand letter to send to the opposing party (individual, business and/or insurance company), including the case outline, liability claims and the proposed damages (injuries, medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, future medical care, etc.). The opposing party will either accept the demand, make a counteroffer or reject it, in which case Pam will work with you to either file a lawsuit or enter into mediation to settle the case outside of court. Good news: about 95% of cases are settled privately pre-court.

“Pam was very professional and understanding with my situation. It would be a pleasure to work with her again, although I hope to not need to."

Robert

"I want to say thank you for all of your work with my parents! I could not have handled this alone and am very grateful that everything was done so quickly and professionally."
